Axemen on the history channel
This past weekend I caught the first two episodes of Axemen on this History Channel. I really enjoyed it. I used to work in heavy construction and I am still fascinated by it. If you enjoy Axemen, check out this site, Van Natta Bros Logging.
Axemen is a ridiculous show that glorifies the destruction of the last 10% of America’s old growth forest. Before you say “they replant” realize that to attain old growth characteristics, and to support the wildlife present in old growth, it takes at least the time it takes for a tree to sprout, mature, die, fall, and rot away into the ground - a minimum of 500 years, and it has never been done.
